My last house was nearly perfect. I can't remember the exact width, but it was around 24ft for a 2-car garage. Another couple of feet would have been even better. Depth is also nice, so you can pull the car far enough in the you can roll around in front of and behind, without rolling into the driveway... Of course this is assuming you don't put in a lift.
